Having a great looking livestream is so much more than uploading a massive video file to LIVEpigeon.

What is the max quality that I can stream from LIVEpigeon?


This question is difficult to answer, because it depends on where you're LIVE streaming to.


If you are going LIVE to Facebook, your video quality will be 1280x720p no matter what, even if you uploaded a 4k video file to LIVEpigeon! This is because Facebook limits the resolution to 720p and a max bit-rate. 

So if you're going LIVE to Facebook, wouldn't it make sense to export your videos at the best Facebook settings, instead of max 4k settings that get scaled down?

LIVEpigeon streaming limits


LIVEpigeon's "max streaming limit" currently streams up to 1080p video, 59.97 FPS, with a bitrate limit of 6000.

We encourage you to export your videos with settings no larger than 1080p, or with a target bitrate no higher than 6000 for this reason. This helps to keep your video files small (which uploads to LIVEpigeon quicker) and it helps your streaming quality to look great, not "compressed down."
