Can't Login to Instagram? Try this to solve your issue!


When logging in to Instagram using LIVEpigeon, you may encounter some roadblocks along the way. Some users get connected first try and it works flawlessly...others not so much.



ATTENTION: If you are getting a prompt from Instagram to "Reset your password" in LIVEpigeon, we recommend ignoring it. If you reset, it will likely just restart this process from the beginning and make things more difficult.



When you login to Instagram, if you get the error "challenge_required" then you'll need to do one of these 2 options:


1. Verify on your Instagram App

2. Verify on Desktop Browser




Step 1a: Get your phone and open your Instagram app.


• When you open your Instagram app, and login as the same account you're trying to LIVE stream to, you should see the below "login attempt" message display on your screen.



• Select "This was me"


If you don't see the above error message, please try refreshing your Instagram feed or try the next step.



Step 1b: Get to a Computer and login to Instagram in a web browser.




• Once logged in click on the "More" button in the bottom left of the screen



• Then select "Settings"



• From here you should get the "Unusual Login Attempt" pop-up



• From here you can approve the Login Attempt. Click "This was me"



Important note: Why is it trying to login from a weird location?


When logging in to Instagram from LIVEpigeon, we select a random location to login from. This helps ensure a smoother login process while multiple LIVEpigeon users are trying to login to Instagram at once. 


Not to worry however, as we're actually logging in from our secure severs hosted in WA Oregon. 


The location that we tell Instagram is always randomized.


Step 2: Go back to LIVEpigeon and try logging in again.


• Please re-enter your username and password, and clicking "log in" again.






FAQ: "I am being asked to give LIVEpigeon a 6 digit code from Instagram... Where do I insert the code?"


If you're experiencing this, this is because you have 2 factor authentication enabled on your Instagram account.


LIVEpigeon does not currently have a way to accept 2 factor authentication yet and we're working on adding the ability to support Two-Factor Authentication in the future. In the meantime, please disable Two-Factor Authentication on your Instagram account, and proceed to try steps 1 and 2.


FAQ: "It's not recognizing my login credentials... What am I doing wrong?"


When logging in to Instagram, sometimes Instagram won't recognize your account's username or phone number.


For the best experience, we recommend logging in with the email associated with your Instagram account.


To find which email is associated with your account, open your app and navigate to your Instagram settings.


From your Instagram settings, navigate to: Settings > Account > Personal Information to find out which email to login with.
