Sometimes customers need to get the YouTube link, so they can share it with their clients, but they don't have their video ready to upload just yet. This is possible with LIVEpigeon!! It just takes a few steps and a different scheduling process, but it is all listed below!

Part 1: 

Let's start out in your YouTube channel.



1. Sign into to your YouTube channel. At the top right of your account, you will see your profile picture. Click this!


A menu will appear, click on "YouTube Studio". You will be taken to your YouTube Studio.






2. At the top right of your YouTube Studio, there is a red camera icon and the word "CREATE". Click this!


A menu will appear, click "Go live". You will be taken to the YouTube Live Control Room.


    

YouTube may ask you 2 questions.


Question 1: Do you want to schedule right now or later?

Select the bottom option for later.

   


Question 2: Are you using a webcam or streaming software?

Select the bottom option for streaming software.

   





3. At the top right, just below your profile photo, you will see a blue button that says "SCHEDULE STREAM". Click this!


   

YouTube may ask you 1 question.


Question 1: Do you want to schedule with previous settings?

Select "CREATE NEW".




4. Another pop up window will appear. The items marked with RED must be filled out. The items marked with PURPLE are optional.



   
DO YOU HAVE A PAID OR RESTRICTED EVENT?

You will want to change the viewing option from "Public" to "Unlisted". 

This will ensure that only the people with the link will be able to view your stream!

    




When everything looks good, click "CREATE STREAM". You will be taken to a different screen.




5. Under the heading "Additional Settings", click on the toggle for both "Enable Auto-start" and "Enable Auto-stop".


Then, click on the back arrow. You will be taken to a different screen.






6. Your video will be listed under the "Upcoming" videos. Place your cursor over the words "Streaming Software".


To the left of the words "Streaming Software", three white vertical dots will appear. Click the dots!


A menu will appear, click "Get shareable link". This is the link you will share with your intended viewers.

   

You have finished Part 1, setting up the

 

shareable YouTube link!







Part 2:

Once you have your video ready, upload it to the Incubator.



Then continue on to steps 7-12, to attach the video to the YouTube link.







Part 3:

Let's start out by having 2 internet tabs open.


One tab needs to be logged into your LIVEpigeon account and the other needs to be 

logged into your YouTube channel. We will be copying codes from YouTube and 

pasting them into LIVEpigeon.




7. In the tab for your YouTube channel, at the top right of your account, you will see your profile picture. Click this!


A menu will appear, click on "YouTube Studio". You will be taken to your YouTube Studio.




8. On the left-hand side there will be a list of menu options. Click on "Content".


Then towards the right is the heading "Channel content". Click on the word "Live" just under this heading.






9. You will find the stream you started in Part 1 listed below the subheading "Upcoming". 


OPTIONAL: Adding a thumbnail. 

You can add a thumbnail to your stream, which will show prior to the LIVE stream. This is a great way to add a touch of professionalism and/or give insight into the content that will be playing!

1. Hover your cursor over the title and description of the video and several icons will appear. Click on "Details" icon (aka the pencil). This will take you to a different screen.
2. Below the schedule date/time is the thumbnail option. Click on the box that says "Upload Thumbnail".

3.  The window with all of your files will appear. Once you select the correct picture, YouTube will display it in the thumbnail field (like below).


4. Over toward the top right, you will select the blue button that says "SAVE".


5. Then over to the top left, you will click on the back arrow. 


This will take you back to the "Upcoming" list and you can pick right back up with attaching the video file in the directions below.



Hover your cursor over the title and description of the video and several icons will appear. Click "View in Live Control Room" icon.

This will take you to the Live Control Room (for reference your screen will look similar to the image below).






Leave this tab here and go to the tab with

your LIVEpigeon account.





10. In the tab with your LIVEpigeon account, DO NOT connect to YouTube, instead go to the Incubator.


Find the video you are wanting to attach to the YouTube link and click on the 3 white dots at the bottom right. Then click on the "Stream Key" option.

This will take you to a pop up window (for reference the window will look similar to the image below).







We are now going to copy and paste the codes!

Go back to the YouTube tab.







11. In the YouTube Live Control Room, find the line that lists the URL and click the "Copy" button to the right.



Go back to the LIVEpigeon tab.




In the LIVEpigeon window, paste the code into the top field that says "Stream URL".



Go back to the YouTube tab.




In the YouTube Live Control Room, find the line that lists the Stream key and click the "Copy" button.



Go back to the LIVEpigeon tab.




In the LIVEpigeon window, paste the code into the second field that says "Stream Key".



We are all done copying and pasting codes! 

The rest of the stream set up will be through LIVEpigeon.




12. In the LIVEpigeon window, create a name for the stream and click on the toggle to schedule for later.




A calendar will appear, MAKE SURE the date and time in LIVEpigeon matches the date and time YouTube has.


Once everything looks good, click "Schedule".





You have finished Part 3, attaching the video to the YouTube link! 


CONGRATULAIONS! 


Your stream is all set up and ready to go LIVE!
