Have you ever finished a Zoom event and went back to look at the recordings, only to see a much worse version of what you want your user to experience? That's because Zoom only records up to 360p for free users. By having a Pro account you get 720p and only they allow 1080p in specific circumstances for Business plans. Today we will be going over what you need to do in order to get higher quality Zoom recordings.
Currently only Pro Account users or higher can conduct calls or meetings in SD and can only have a maximum of two participants. Full HD (AKA Group HD) is available for Business and Enterprise plans, but is currently limited to large format broadcast events.
Change Zoom Resoultion
You can only change resolution to 720p if you are on a Pro plan or higher. To turn on 720p resolution, follow these steps:
• Open the Zoom desktop client
• Click on your profile picture and select "Settings" from the dropdown
• Click on the Video tab in the navigation bar on the left of the screen and select "HD"
You can only change resolution to 1080p if you are Business and Enterprise plan. Additionally, this feature is limited to large format broadcast events, which means you need to reach out to Zoom support to enable it. Follow the below instructions to enable "Group HD" in 1080p:
• Access Zoom via the web portal go to Settings ➡️ Meetings ➡️ In Meeting (Advanced)
• Scroll down and then enable the Group HD slider
While 1080p isn't yet widely accessible to everyone just yet, we hope this will at least guide you on your way to improving the quality of your Zoom meetings!
